This “New-Old Farmhouse”, originally a one story ranch, has been completely redesigned and renovated to appear as though it was built more than 100 years ago, yet has been modified to support the way we live now. The floor plan allows for a large, center island kitchen open to the dining and living spaces. This flexible arrangement allows for simple day-to-day family life and for occasional larger scale entertaining. The sunroom takes advantage of the pastoral views and its radiant slab keeps the room cozy and warm in the winter and the double hung windows allow for gentle cross-breezes.
Susan Rochelle is a Residential Architect in New Jersey and other states. She is the designer of fine new single family and vacation homes throughout the area. To design the best home possible for her clients, Susan first gets to know the family (Are there children living in the home? How many? What is a typical morning in the household?). She also learns about the family lifestyle, (Is high-end luxury the goal or is understated elegance more important?) Susan also takes the surrounding community into account (What is the context of the neighborhood? What are the zoning laws?). With this information at hand, Susan works with the client to design a home that is uniquely theirs.
